Waiting times

Anyone who contacts Relate Cambridge will be offered an initial appointment within 5 - 10 days. Waiting times for ongoing counselling/therapy will depend on your availability and the service you require.

Counselling is available across Cambrigeshire (including Peterborough and Fenland). Our main centre is in Cambridge at 3 Brooklands Avenue, and in addition we have counsellors working at outposts in across Cambridge, Cambourne, Eaton Socon, Ely, Huntingdon, Melbourn, Newmarket, Peterborough, Sawston, Stamford, and Wisbech. To view all of our locations, please click here

Sessions at Brooklands Avenue are held on Monday to Friday from 9am to 9pm and on Saturday from 9am to 4pm, and at reduced hours at our outposts.

Relate Cambridge is a not for profit organisation. In common with most UK charities we do not receive any government funding and rely heavily on the contributions made by our clients.

The Initial Assessments are charged at £60 each session, and this includes our admin costs and the counsellors’ time in carrying out the assessments.

If we assess that we can offer you on going Counselling, the costs are based on your income. There is a sliding scale of charges and details are on our web site.

Some may find it difficult to pay the full cost of counselling and to ensure our services are accessible to everyone; there is a limited bursary available in those circumstances.

Please call the appointments team on 01302 347 866 if you would like to discuss this further or to make an appointment.

Credit/debit cards may be taken at our outposts - we suggest you make your contribution with cash, PayPal or else call 01302 347866 or contribute online by midday the following day.

We ask that babies and young children are not brought to sessions (except for family counselling). For obvious reasons this is very distracting for you as well as for the counsellor.

There is wheelchair access at all sites except Brooklands Avenue, where alternative arrangements can be made.
